Software-update: FlashFXP V2.0 RC2

Bolk vertelde ons dat er een nieuwe versie van FlashFXP uit is. FlashFXP is een veelgebruikt FTP-programma. We zijn inmiddels aangekomen bij versie 2.0 Release Candidate 2. Op de website staat de volgende informatie over deze versie van FlashFXP:

What you need to know about this release

FlashFXP v2.0 RC2 is considered to be a stable release, but we are still looking for bugs, and have compiled it as a DEBUG version. You will notice this in the status window when you start up. This will give us more information if/when a bug is encountered. As a result, the FlashFXP executable is quite a bit larger than normal. [break] Het changelog is hier te vinden.

Dit gaat dus over RC1:

Added SSL/TLS Support.

Nu nog SFTP/SSH support ik ga even een feature request mailen (done)

Verder zit er behoorlijk wat XP compatibility bij. Ook niet geheel verkeerd lijkt me.

SSH kun je duidelijk wel vergeten evenals SCP.
Dat heeft BigStart ook al eens op het flahfxp forum gezegd.
De reden daarvoor dis dat alles rondom het ftp protocol gebouwd is en die twee niks met het ftp protocol te maken hebben.

SSH = SCP = SFTP; SCP en SFTP maken gebruik van het SSH protocol.

Hij ondersteund ook het FXP protocol dus iig niet alleen het FTP protocol. Wat wil een gemiddeld bedrijf a) met het FXP protocol b) met het SSH protocol. Lijkt me toch redelijk logisch dat SSH meer gebruikt wordt door commerciele bedrijven en FXP meer door warezkiddies die toch niet voor FlashFXP willen noch gaan dokken voor FlashFXP.

Indien hij nou 'ns verstandig ende logisch nadenkt dan komt hij tot de conclusie dat er geen goede clients zijn die SFTP en FTP in 1 client supporten. Of uberhaupt mooie, grafische SFTP clients. Mensen vragen die feature niet voor niks aan. Hier valt geld mee te verdienen!

Bij die link staat helaas alleen nog maart de changelog van V2.0 RC1.

Daarom hierbij maar even de changelog voor RC2:

- Added SOCKS4A support. You will need to re-set your proxy type. (your proxy type may be off by 1)
- Fixed bug that caused ftp:// urls to login anonymously, ignoring any supplied l/p
- Fixed bug where right-click selecting a folder in the TreeView didn't actually select the folder, if you selected an action from the right-click menu it was performed on the last folder that was left clicked
- Fixed bug in "tools/calculate ftp space used" where the starting path was counted twice
- Improved support for AS/400 FTP Servers
- When transferring multiple consecutive files from the same host, Now FlashFXP only checks to see if the site exists in the Site Manager for the first file. If the site is removed during the file transfer it will continue to transfer the remaining files using the information stored in memory
- Fixed bug where while a file transfer is in progress if you attempted a drag/drop move operation in the Remote ListView or TreeView it was allowed
- When the option "send noop during transfer" is enabled FlashFXP no longer conceals the replies
- Fixed bug where adding a new site and then renaming it via the Site Name area and then clicking Apply neglected to update the site name in the Site List

Wauw, nou heb ik echt HEEEEEEEEEEEEEL lang geen FlashFXP gebruikt maar dit vind ik zeker wel een lekker programmaatje. Ziet er netjes en simpel uit, en werkt ook nog eens lekker vlot + goeie bookmark import mogelijkheden. En natuurlijk FXP mogelijkheid zelf

Als je niet zoveel geeft om de FXP feature kun je misschien beter op SmartFTP overstappen - heb je helemaal geen key nodig.
