Software-update: µTorrent 2.1 build 18304 alpha

Woensdag is er niet alleen een nieuwe versie uit de 2.0.x-ontwikkeltak verschenen, ook in de 2.1-tak, die als alpha beschouwd moet worden, is een nieuwe versie uitgebracht. Nieuw in versie 2.1 is de ondersteuning voor trackers en web-seeds via magnet links en voor rss-feeds in de WebUI. Diezelfde WebUI maakt nu ook gebruik van versleuteling en zou verder geen port-forwarding meer nodig hebben. De bedoeling is echter dat er nog meer nieuwe functionaliteit toegevoegd gaat worden. Hieronder is te vinden wat er sinds build 17350 allemaal veranderd is:

Changes in version 2.1 (build 18304)

• Fix: Schedule map would show times that were "off" as grey in disabled view
• Fix: issue where we would incorrectly report being as seed when using magnet links

Dat vindt ik wel interessant en zelfs spectaculair, maar ik kan er behalve jouw opmerking niks over terugvinden?

Zo te zien werkt dat door vanaf µTorrent een verbinding op te zetten met één van hun servers welke dan als proxy fungeert. (falcon.utorrent.com)

Niet als proxy denk ik (men zou de traffic niet kunnen behappen) , maar ik neem aan als tcp sessie spoofer om 2 peers die beide achter een NAT zitten met elkaar te verbinden.

Het faciliteren van onderlinge datauitwisseling op deze manier is wel dubieus en kan mogelijk door een auteursrechten organisatie aangepakt worden.

Heeft iemand deze probleem gehad in de stabiele release: bij ons heeft 'ie een 50/50 kans om te crashen op het moment dat een torrent af is en een nieuwe moet beginnen. En dit op twee verschillende XP machines.

Het heef t misschien te maken met het feit dat wij niet onnodig willen seeden (sorry, maar we wonen in Frankrijk...) dus moet hij tegelijkertijd èn stoppen met downloaden, èn stoppen met seeden, èn de volgende torrent uit de queue starten.

Ik had even op de forums gezocht een paar weken geleden maar kon niets vinden (heb wel WebUI uitgezet zoals voorgesteld voor soortgelijke problemen).

Zouden de 2.0.1 of 2.1 builds dit probleem oplossen?

Probeer het uit, en kijk anders even op GoT. Niet verkeerd bedoeld, maar meukposts zijn niet bedoeld als semi-topic waar je je problemen kan posten.

gebruik sowieso de 2.0 tak of de 1.8.5 en niet 2.1 want die is nog niet stabiel. en wat jij wil kan gewoon hoor. Hij hoort alleen niet te crashen.

Dat Falcon vind ik echt overbodig.
Dat je je RSS feeds en RSS downloader kan beheren in de WebUI vind ik wel heel fijn, maar ik hoop niet dat je met 2.1 verplicht bent om Falcon te gebruiken om van deze functionaliteiten gebruik te maken.

Want is eigenlijk de nieuwigheid aan Magnet links? Die ondersteund uTorrent allang...
