De ontwikkelaars van Abvent hebben onlangs versie 2.1 van Artlantis Render en Artlantis Studio uitgebracht. Beide pakketen richten zich op het maken van hoogwaardige renders in real-time met het verschil dat de Studio-variant meer mogelijkheden bevat. Objecten uit onder andere ArchiCAD, VectorWorks, SketchUp Pro en Arc+ kunnen zonder problemen worden ingelezen. De beknopte aankondiging van deze uitgave ziet er als volgt uit:
Abvent releases Artlantis 2.1
The Abvent Group, editor and publisher of Artlantis, announced today the release of Artlantis 2.1. The new version’s focus on speed ensures that Artlantis will maintain a leading role among the fastest rendering applications available on the market today. Artlantis 2.0 users can download the update free of charge.
Enhanced support for multi-core processors, geometry optimization, and enhanced light management are the core developments that have resulted in dramatic speed increases in some cases of 6-8 times compared to the earlier version 2.0.3. As a result, this new version offers a more fluid design environment and a faster rendering calculation.
Artlantis users will recall that Artlantis 2.0 introduced several innovations, including the concept of automatic light adjustment, allowing for a very realistic simulation of light in the real-time preview window. The new 2.1 version of Artlantis dramatically improves upon these calculations with a special focus on soft shadows, resulting in a faster update of the real-time preview window, and faster computing of the final renderings.
