Avant Browser maakt gebruik van de engine van Internet Explorer, maar voegt daar extra functionaliteit aan toe zoals een pop-up blocker, de ondersteuning van mouse gestures, het gebruiken van tabbed browsing, een zoekbalk en de mogelijkheid om het uiterlijk van het programma aan te passen door gebruik van skins. Een deel van deze mogelijkheden worden ook door versie 7 van IE aangeboden, Avant Browser kan echter al gebruikt worden vanaf IE 5.5. De ontwikkelaars van Avant Force hebben versie 11.7 build 8 uitgebracht voorzien van de volgende lijst met aanpassingen:
