De ontwikkelaars van Avast hebben een nieuwe versie van Antivirus uitgebracht. Het antivirusprogramma is aangekomen bij versienummer 4.8.1201, die vanaf deze pagina in verschillende uitvoeringen gedownload kan worden. Avast Antivirus bevat niet alleen een virusscanner, maar ook een spyware- en rootkitscanner. Als het programma malware vindt, dan kan het geïnfecteerde bestand verwijderd of opgeschoond worden. Antivirus wordt voor thuisgebruik gratis beschikbaar gesteld; in andere gevallen moet de Professional Edition aangeschaft worden.
