BillP Studios heeft gisteren versie 12.2 van Winpatrol 2007 uitgebracht. In dit programma houdt 'Scotty, de Windows-watchdog' het systeem in de gaten, waardoor dit sneller en stabieler zijn werk zou moeten doen. Het detecteert en stopt spy-, ad- en malware, virusaanvallen, kwaadaardige Internet Explorer-addons en voorkomt startpagina-hijacks. Daarnaast worden nog een aantal andere zaken in de gaten gehouden, waaronder de op de pc draaiende processen, het hosts-bestand en de bestandsextensies. Naast de gratis versie is er ook een betaalde Plus-variant die toegang geeft tot een database met uitgebreide informatieprogramma's en processen en of deze veilig of juist kwaadaardig zijn.
