Er is een nieuwe bètarelease van µTorrent versie 1.7 uit, dit maal met build nummer 1355. µTorrent is een BitTorrent-client met een lage geheugen- en processorbelasting, waarbij de grootte van het programma zelf ook nog eens minimaal is. Hoewel µTorrent nog steeds een van de populairste BitTorrent-clients is, heeft de reputatie van het programma een flinke deuk gekregen toen de ontwikkelaar ervan, Ludvig Strigeus, in december bekend maakte dat hij zijn creatie had verkocht aan Bram Cohen, de ontwikkelaar van het BitTorrent-protocol. Bram Cohen werkt namelijk samen met de MPAA om illegale content van zijn website te weren. Het changelog van deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:
