Ashampoo heeft enkele dagen geleden zijn FireWall-software voorzien van een update naar versie 1.10. Ashampoo FireWall is de gratis versie van de binnenkort te verschijnen Ashampoo FireWall Pro. Het programma heeft alles wat je van een moderne firewall mag verwachten; zoals het monitoren van al het in- en uitgaande verkeer, het kunnen aanmaken van zogenaamde rules en een paniekknop die al het netwerkverkeer stillegt. Het changelog van deze release laat de volgende veranderingen zien:

- FireWall now has the ability to prevent its own termination from taskmanager and other software
- FireWall.exe no longer hides its process by default, but prevents its termination (some users didnt like hiding the EXE - seemed too much like a rootkit)
- Options->Options now has a new set of options (Protection) where users can customize the self-protection
- if the self-protection should fail for some reason, it will NOT be tried again after reboot
- fixed some issues that could cause a bluescreen or reboot while starting self-protection on certain systems
- fixed compatibility-issues with several E-Mail applications
- fixed compatibility-issues with several AntiSpam-products and filters
- generally improved compatibility with other products and filters
- fixed several smaller bugs that could (in rare cases) cause errors
