Tyan heeft voor zijn moederbord met de naam Thunder K8QW (S4881) een nieuw BIOS uitgebracht met 1.06 als het versienummer. Het moederbord is gebaseerd rond AMD-8131 en nVidia nForce Professional 2200 chips en biedt plaats aan vier Opteron 800-serie processors met een Socket-940-voetje. Het aantal processors is met behulp van een M4881 - Processor Expansion Board zelfs uit te breiden naar acht, of te wel zestien cores als je gebruik maakt van dual-core processors.
