Software-update: µTorrent 3.0 build 20680 bèta

Donderdag is er een nieuwe ontwikkelversie van µTorrent 3.0 verschenen. Versie 3.0 is de samenvoeging van de 2.1-ontwikkeltak met project Falcon, de web-interface van µTorrent en is na een aantal alpha's inmiddels naar het bètalevel getild. Nieuw in versie 3.0, is de ondersteuning voor trackers en web-seeds via magnet links en voor rss-feeds in de WebUI. Diezelfde WebUI maakt nu ook gebruik van versleuteling en zou daarnaast geen port-forwarding meer nodig hebben. De bedoeling is echter dat er nog meer nieuwe functionaliteit wordt toegevoegd. Hieronder is te vinden wat er sinds versie 3.0 build 20228 alpha allemaal veranderd is:

• Fix: Crash during btapp install.

• Change: increase timeouts and have fewer re-sends when connecting to uTP peers. This reduces some overhead
• Change: only rate limit local uTP sockets if both uTP sockets are limited and 'limit local peers' is set
• Fix: added support for utf8 in btapp files. Javascript files can now contain Japanese and it will be correctly displayed
• Fix: graph TCP rates when uTP is not rate limited, even when tcp_rate_control is off
• Fix: fixed bug where "apply rate limit to uTP" would get unchecked by itself
