Ordered a laptop with "order before 19:30, tomorrow in house" in a big green sign next to the order button. Order process went well - if an way overly complicated and buggy flow to do it, and I got a mail saying the order had gone through.

Then I got an order saying the laptop was being made ready for delivery, and then nothing.

Checked the site and got a message saying waiting for stock. Checked the mobile shop and got a message saying it had been handed over to DHL.

Later in the evening I checked again and now both mobile and website agreed waiting for stock - with a delivery date of 1st June.

Cancelled the order on the site (which isn't a cancellation, but a please contact me looking like a cancellation form), still no mail saying it wasn't going to be delivered.

This morning and the date has shifted again, now 4th June. Still no contact from HP aside from we have received your communication.

Sent DM on twitter, and tried for a second time to cancel it online. Both of which have been ignored.

After a lot of searching found a number to call. Got someone on the phone who said that it was a 'complex' case and he would not cancel the order for me, it needed to be looked at by someone else - who conveniently was lunching at gone 2pm, with no idea when they would be back. He wouldn't talk to that person, but send them a mail, wait for a response and promised to contact me by 5:30. 30 minutes after the phone lines close.

Categorically refused to cancel the order, repeatedly, or give me contact details for someone who could help me.

Then said he could help and there was no point talking to someone else, but wouldn't tell me what he would do, and that he would only do it after talking to the second mystery person who deals with cancellations (who has now morphed into his supervisor, so there was no point in asking to speak to his supervisor, as they were at lunch at now coming up to 2:15pm). And that he had 24 hours to get back in contact anyway. And by staying on the phone I was holding up any response I could get as he couldn't take it up with his supervisor. The same supervisor who was supposed to be at lunch. When I asked again to speak to the supervisor - if he was now available andf I was now the hold up in getting the problem solved I was told that, no, he is still at lunch. Ad infinitum.

That was an hour ago - and still zero communication from HP!

Basically HP store seems to be a scam site where they block the funds on your card immediately, telling you next day delivery, then when you complain they say there is small print somewhere saying 'not really though' we can deliver it whenever we want.

Now left with no laptop, no funds to buy one elsewhere and no idea when they will get around to doing anything about it.
