thank you very much for your enquiry regarding the product "Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray".
In the following I would like to answer all questions asked by you:
1). You have a 30-day period in which you can return the item to Amazon.de. The item will then have to be returned to our returns center which is situated in Germany. We would then ask you to pay for the shipment fees and refund you upon arrival-- and after an e-mail from you stating the exact costs of the return shipment-- of the item at our return center.
2). We offer a two-year warranty on all our electronic items, including the "Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray".
3). Amazon.de will handle the warranty itself. We have our own department for mobile phones which handles the repairs of mobile phones of certain brands, including Sony Ericsson. The repairs center is also situated in Germany and we would thus ask you to send the item there, too. The item will not be sent to the manufacturer from there onwards, but we will handle the repair ourselves.
4). Each damaged or defective item is handled on a case-by-case basis and we would always ask you to send the item to us to examine it. We would then look at whether we are dealing with a self-imposed damage or defect, if a repair is necessary and useful, if the item has been sent in before, as well as other various factors.
Should your item be damaged or defective, we would try to repair it before replacing it or giving you a full refund for it. Should the first, as well as a second attempt to repair the item not be successful, however, we would notify you and ask if you wish to receive a replacement or a refund.
The warranty is not handled differently according to how old the item is, but is only valid for two years.
For the shipment costs for sending the item in for repairs will, of course, be refunded.

I was interested in Buying a Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray.
But I do have some questions regarding the warranty and service by Amazon.de to Belgian customers. (in English please

)
1) Normally, for sales from a webshop, there is ??1 week?? of time to send back an article and get a full refund.
a. Do I have to send back the article to Germany? Or is there a local, Belgian, office?
b. If I need to send it back to Germany, then do I have more time than 1 week (transport could take quite long and it would be almost impossible to test it and send it back in time)?
c. Do I also get a refund of the transport costs for sending it back?
2) How long is the warranty on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray?
3) Who handles the warranty?
a) Is it Amazon.de?
b) Is it Sony Ericsson.DE?
c) Is it Sony Ericsson.BE?
d) Is it Amazon.de, who will forward the damaged and verified broken cellphone to Sony Ericsson.de for further handling of the warranty? (this would take ages)
4) How is the warranty handled?
a) Do I get a replaced product immediatly after verification of the damage?
b) Do I get a full refund immediatly after verification of the damage?
c) Do I have to wait for Sony Ericsson to try and repair the damage? (this would take ages)
d) Does it depend from situation to situation?
e) Can I choose how it is handled (eg between replament product or full refund)?
f) Is there perhaps a difference in how the warranty is handled depending on how old the cellphone is when it got broke? (e.g.: immediate refund / replace by Amazon.de the first year ; fixing by Sony Ericsson after 1 year)
g) Do I get a refund of the transport costs from me to Amazon.de or Sony Ericsson?
