How important is each aspect of a game in terms of the entire product's overall quality? (for example, is having flashy new technology in the game more important than a really fun play experience?)Personally, I have always put gameplay and fun above looks. But tech doesn't always fall into the catagory of 'the look'. I think if you have great new tech and don't integrate it effectively into your game to where its fun, then that is wasted tech. As far as I'm concerned, the technology could be incredible, but if you don't have a solid designer or artist with a great idea on how to use it, it's pretty much useless. Overall though, I would say that It's really hard to say one is any more important than the other.
