Software-update: Kaspersky Anti-Virus WS 5.0.175

Verwijderd wist ons te melden dat Kaspersky een nieuwe versie van zijn Anti-Virus-software voor Windows-workstations heeft uitgebracht. Dit keer heeft het programma een upgrade gekregen naar versienummer 5.0.175 en is beschikbaar voor Windows 95/98 en Windows NT. Daarnaast is er ook een Full-uitvoering beschikbaar die zowel op Windows 9x als Windows NT geïnstalleerd kan worden. Kaspersky Anti-Virus scant een Windows-pc op aanwezigheid van virussen, adware en hacksoftware. De nieuwe 5.0.175-release wordt geleverd met de volgende veranderingen:

The following features have been added:

• support for detecting potentially unwanted software using extended anti-virus database: potentially dangerous riskware and hacking software, adware and pornware, programs-jokes;
• support for launching the updating procedure and the anti-virus scan using any user's rights that allows to perform the following actions automatically or remotely from the administration console: anti-virus scan and disinfection of user's automatic startup objects, MS Outlook/MS Outlook Express mailboxes, encrypted files and files located on the network drives, updating via a proxy-server that uses NTML authorization;
• a possibility of automatic updating using the administration server;
• a possibility to configure anti-virus scan initiated from MS Windows Explorer and using the Scan objects link;
• a possibility to perform update and anti-virus scan immediately after the application startup using the At the application startup option in the Schedule tab of the task settings;
• a possibility to save user-defined settings after the installation of a new application version;
• displaying the number of records in the anti-virus database in the main application window;

Fixed:

• effect of some settings on the anti-virus protection level, such as numbers SMTP/POP3 ports, enabling iChecker and iStreams technologies and enabling prompting for password upon detection of a password-protected file;
• absense of the full path to composite files stored in the quarantine/backup storage;
• a possibility to replace a "black list" license keys file with an earlier version.

Dit is een update voor Kaspersky voor Windows-workstations en niet voor Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal dan wel Personal Pro (deze zijn ook al bij versie 5.0.227). De titel van het onderwerp deed even anders vermoeden....

o dacht al..

er is 1 bug in AV personal, maar die zit vast ook in pro... superirritant:
als je van gebruiker wisselt (zonder eerst helemaal af te melden) krijg je bericht "kaspersky is al gestart door andere gebruiker" en moetje op OK klikken..

Kaspersky weeet van deze bug maar doet er nix aan...
kvind het het beste avprog, vooral omdat het erg weinig resources gebruikt en de pc niet zo vertraagd... maar als ik dat bericht zie krijg ik zin om een andere te zoeken!!!

Dan raad ik je aan om NOD32 te gaan gebruiken. Aangezien NOD32 de allerbeste is die er is, wint al vanaf 1998 alle virusawards
Daarnaast, gebruikt nagenoeg geen resources, en helemaal niet vertraagd.
Wel is het vrij lastig om aan NOD32 in Nederland te komen...
Ik kon het of laten importeren, of ophalen in Duitsland.
Nou vond ik dat laatste niet zo heel erg, maar als het erg ver in Duitsland is wel.
Vandaar dat ik het heb laten importeren...
Maar je kan natuurlijk ook altijd de downloadversie kopen en die registreren met creditkaart.
Maar goed, ik kocht NOD32 toch alweer een tijdje geleden, en zoals ik vernomen had, is het nu ook in NL beschikbaar.
