Project Leader Ignition (SCADA/MES)
The challenge
AT-Automation is growing. We're taking on more and increasingly complex SCADA and MES projects for clients who expect higher standards in quality, predictability, and collaboration. Our engineers are top-notch at what they do, but to get the most out of that talent, structure and direction are needed. That's where you come in.
As an Ignition Project Manager, you make sure projects run smoothly: content-wise, organizationally, and financially. You keep track of scope, planning, and budget, make decisions when things get tricky, and ensure everyone knows what to expect-from engineer to client. You're the go-to person who brings calm to complex projects.
At the same time, you look beyond today's project. AT-Automation wants to build a scalable organization for the future, and you play an active role in that. This means contributing ideas on methods, processes, and collaboration, and actually helping improve them. So the role is explicitly bigger than just project management: you help shape how we grow as an organization. Curious about the Ignition software? Try the demo for free at:

What you'll do
- You lead Ignition projects from intake to delivery (and evaluation).
- You keep an eye on scope, schedule, budget, and quality-and step in when needed.
- You turn customer wishes into a clear approach, a quote, and a realistic end result.
- You manage engineers and other stakeholders, making sure priorities are clear.
- You support and coach team members in their technical and personal growth so they can develop in their role.
- You report progress and financial status to the client and internally.
- You have constructive conversations with clients, balancing their interests with those of AT-Automation.
- You spot opportunities for improvement-in projects, collaboration, and our way of working-and you act on them.
- You not only keep track of project results but also of client satisfaction through clear communication, quality delivery, and good follow-up.
- You build lasting client relationships and identify opportunities for follow-up projects and further collaboration.
Why you'll love this role
- You get a lot of space and responsibility to shape your role more broadly.
- You help build processes, structure, and professionalism within the organization.
- You work on challenging industrial automation projects for a variety of clients.
- You are a knowledgeable sparring partner for both the client and the team, without having to solve everything yourself.
- You actively contribute to further positioning AT-Automation as a high-quality and reliable partner in industrial automation.
What you bring
- You are a project leader who keeps an overview and isn't afraid to take charge.
- Scope management, stakeholder management, and progress reporting are in your DNA.
- You communicate easily with engineers, operators, and management.
- You have natural leadership qualities and know how to guide people in a coaching way.
- You're not afraid to say "no" if the project calls for it.
- Experience with industrial automation, SCADA, or MES is a plus-but not a must. HBO-level thinking and working, with at least 5 years of experience in project-based work.
- You're practical, analytical, and like being responsible.
- You stay calm and effective when priorities change or projects come under pressure.
- Not a 9-to-5 mentality, but you do value long-term collaboration.
- You have a reasonable to good command of German.
- You're customer-oriented, understand commercial interests, and know how to build lasting relationships.
- You are results-oriented, take initiative, and don't wait around when action is needed.
- You are willing to occasionally travel abroad for projects.

At AT-Automation, you don't only get an attractive salary that matches your experience and skills, but also a comprehensive package of secondary benefits:
