I purchased a DJI Phantom 3 advanced drone in June of 2016. Initially I even left a positive review about this shop. This all changed later. I’ve flown with it for a few months, then went abroad for a while and when I returned I discovered the drone would no longer fly due to some hardware sensor error. After consulting with the manufacturer, DJI, it was likely this was a hardware issue, so I contacted Eglobalcentral to ship it to them.
The first issue was that they refused to pay for the shipping costs. In my experience, if a defect is indeed covered by warranty shops at least pay you back the shipping costs at a later moment. Eglobalcentral refuses to do so.
I shipped the drone in early march of this year. The whole process has been incredibly slow and frustrating. Numerous times I requested an update as to the status of the repair. They kept saying that it would take additional time and they would report back to me when they had news.
Early may, I still had not received any update, more than 2 months after shipping it to them. I contacted them and said it was unacceptable.
Then, one day later suddenly they messaged me saying that the hardware defect could not be repaired, and the offered me a new Phantom 3 Advanced drone.
It is very weird that I have to contact THEM to receive updates, other than the other way around.
Unfortunately, this isn’t where it ends. Early may they told me it would ship in a few days. A week later I still didn’t receive any confirmation.
I contacted them again, telling me the shipment was being processed. Again, the next few days the only thing that remained was silence. 10 days after that I received a message it would be dispatched in 1-2 days. Later on that same day I received an additional message in which they informed me the Phantom 3 Advanced was out of stock.
Their "solution" was to ship a Phantom 3 standard instead. Of course I refused as this model is much cheaper than the one I purchased originally. I told them to ship me the slightly more expensive Phantom 3 Professional at their expense, as It’s not my problem they don’t have sufficient stock.
Their next offer was even worse in monetary value. They offered an in-store credit of 400 EUR. Again I refused to accept this, as I paid 686 euro’s for the drone less than a year ago. Then, they started offering me the replacement for a Standard model again, as they did before. Of course, I declined again since this was the same offer as made earlier.
Their policy is that my drone is 10 months old, therefore the 'market value’ is about 400 EUR so that’s wat they are willing to compensate.
Now anyone having ever dealt with warranty knows that this is not how warranty is supposed to work.
The cheaper prices in this store do not make up for the total lack of warranty and service received at this store. I strongly recommend avoiding this shop at all costs. It is not worth your time to deal with issues like this that any other store would make no fuzz about. Currently I’ve had to sent more than 20 messages to them and after 3 months the issue is still not solved! Each message I send takes days if not weeks to be replied to. I’ve never encountered any webshop like this, that doesn’t understand the general concept of warranty as offered by any other store.
Instead of buying from these scammers, just purchase your gear from a reputable store even if that’s slightly more expensive. It will be worth it in the long run.
