During my P.h,D I researched the application of Reinforcement (RL) Learning in healthcare. We developed an RL AI-human hybrid medical treatment protocol for mechanically ventilated patients with covid-19 pneumonia. We compared the best models with current clinical practise and present insight into potential treatment improvement. As part of a startup we are now developing a medical device to optimize treatment of critically ill patients in the intensive care.
