Massivizing Computer Systems: We Should All Think Ecosystems Now
Cloud computing services play an essential role in today's modern society. They enable key application domains, from banking to e-commerce, from science to gaming, from governance to education. In this talk, we raise awareness about grand challenges in achieving long-lasting success. We propose to use the principles of distributed ecosystems toward sound principles of science and design, engineering based on more than hacking, and dependable operations. We also show practical results, with work partially conducted in the international SPEC RG Cloud Group.
