From self-taught sysadmin to director: lessons learned
Just like a lot of engineers, I'm an autodidact. I didn't finish my study, started tinkering with Linux, became a cloud engineer and today I'm running a cloud consultancy. But the ride hasn't been always smooth.
In my talk I would like to share the things I've learned growing as a person and professional. I struggled with the imposter syndrome, but I've learned to live with it. Sometimes I felt like a jack of all trades, and sometimes like a master of none. And that's OK as well. It's all about being aware of yourself and your behavior.
In my talk I will be giving practical tips, especially if you're a senior engineer who is thinking about moving into management. And if not, there are probably enough takeaways for you as well.
