Biography
Rick has been working as blockchain engineer at APG for some time now after graduating from his master in information sciences at the Vrije Universiteit. He graduated on the topic of process optimalization using blockchain, his thesis researched a specific use case within APG. APG is the largest pension provider in the Netherlands and manages the pension assets of 4.5 million Dutch citizens. While some people might not associate innovation with pensions, it is now one of the five national use cases for creating blockchain solutions.

The pension industry has stood still for too long. It is time to disrupt! By creating a pension infrastructure using blockchain it is possible to change pensions forever. It enables pension processes to be executed in minutes instead of in months, reducing the paper work significantly. However, this requires extensive collaboration between different parties and also brings a number of technical challenges with it. This masterclass will be a (technical) deep dive into a specific use case regarding the pension infrastructure using blockchain.
