Work

As a Linux System Engineer at Minty Hosting, you will have a wide range of responsibilities and tasks. These include optimizing and managing our Linux servers, solving technical problems and dumps and implementing new solutions and updates and performing preventive maintenance.

In addition, providing technical support to customers is also part of your duties. Think of answering technical questions and requests via e-mail, phone and our ticket system. But you also provide support with website migrations and for example, setting up the e-mail. Experience with customer service and customer contact is therefore a plus.

You will work in a dynamic environment where you can use and develop your technical skills. Below is a detailed overview of your duties:

• Manage and maintain our Linux environments, primarily based on Ubuntu;
• Configure, manage and optimize PowerDNS services;
• Manage virtualization platforms such as Proxmox and VMware;
• Implement and maintain containers and virtual machines, and ensure their optimal operation;
• Manage web hosting environments and control panels in Plesk;
• Develop and maintain scripts (e.g. Bash, Python) for automating repetitive tasks;
• Provide technical support to customers and solve their problems with hosting services;
• Implement and manage monitoring tools to ensure the availability and performance of our services;
• Implement security measures to ensure the integrity and security of our systems and data.

Who is looking for Minty Hosting

At Minty Hosting you have the freedom to use your own knowledge and experience. We are looking for someone who can work well independently but also enjoys sharing and applying new ideas. We are looking for a technical and customer-oriented Linux System Engineer who:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience;
• Has extensive knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu);
• Experience with Proxmox, VMware and Plesk;
• Proficient in scripting and automation with Bash;

• Has problem-solving skills and can act proactively;
• Possess excellent communication skills;
• ability to work independently.
• You live in the Haarlem area and surrounding areas.
