As we expand, we need a skilled and motivated Tech Lead to drive technical excellence in the product development team. Our growth has been significant, and we are looking for leaders to continue our journey with the support of Visma, a leading European tech company.

The Role and team

The Tech Lead will guide a team of 12, including 7 developers and 2 QA engineers with 5 nationalities, all on site in Utrecht. We are data driven and are fully invested in AI as part of the tech stack and way of working. We work with innovative technologies and are focused on fast-paced delivery of software that makes an impact. We follow Agile and Scrum methodologies, utilize Clean Architecture, and embrace AI-powered development.

The Tech Lead is responsible for ensuring technical quality, making architecture and design decisions, providing guidance and promoting best practices within the team. Important priorities include designing scalable solutions and fostering a collaborative development environment. You will work closely with the Head of Product and the Product Owner to translate the customer value based roadmap into actionable technical plans, and execute these with the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team.
• Drive high performance by fostering a positive and productive team environment.
• Collaborate with product managers to define technical requirements and translate them into actionable tasks.
• Design and implement robust and scalable software architectures.
• Ensure code quality, conduct code reviews, and promote best practices.
• Mentor and support team members, fostering their growth and development.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and trends, and apply them to improve our systems.
• Identify and address technical challenges, and implement effective solutions.

What You'll Bring

• Completed Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of software development principles, architecture, and best practices.
• Experience with our tech stack: Microsoft SQL, Entity Framework Core, .NET Core, Angular, Typescript.
• Experience with testing frameworks: NUnit, Jest, and Cypress.
• Experience with cloud platforms, specifically Azure.
• Affinity and high curiosity for AI. Hand-on experience is a nice-to-have.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor a development team.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• A proactive, results-oriented approach and a strong sense of initiative.
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
• Based in or willing to commute to Utrecht, The Netherlands
