Daily activities

You may be involved in activities related to:

• Installation engineering
• Construction engineering & materials
• Structural engineering
• Marine engineering
• Geotechnical engineering
• Engineering software development

You have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical engineering, Maritime engineering or equivalent.
• Affinity with the offshore industry
• Dedication to contribute to improving the offshore installation industry
• Inquisitiveness, strong communication skills, quick learning capabilities
• Good command of the English language, both spoken and written

Within HES there are always opportunities for final thesis candidates. We have assignments for students with various engineering backgrounds. With assignments related to naval architecture, structural engineering, motion and control engineering, offshore engineering. All of our assignments are related to the offshore installation of renewable projects.

• Critical thinker with excellent problem solving skills
• Independent and enjoys working together
• Urge to deliver quality and take ownership
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Your role in the story

As Business Developer, you will play a key role in expanding the reach and reputation of Heerema Engineering Solutions. You are responsible for identifying and acquiring new clients, nurturing relationships with existing ones, and translating market developments into strategic actions that align with HES's unique capabilities in offshore wind.

Your challenge is to clearly communicate our value proposition, maintain a structured and proactive approach to client engagement, and ensure that HES remains top-of-mind with both new and existing clients. In order to be successful in this role, you will need to work closely with Subject Matter Experts, Team Leads and the rest of the Commercial Team to align technical strengths with client needs, while managing and improving the business development process. In this role, you are shaping the direction of our commercial efforts and brand presence. You will be reporting to the Commercial Manager.

Key ingredients for success:

As a Business Developer you are a proactive and communicative professional with a commercial mindset. You are a great connector and know how to get things done. Furthermore, you have:

• A higher Vocational, Bachelor or Polytechnic degree in Commercial or Technical field;
• 5 years' of experience in the Offshore Energy industry;
• Experience, affinity and interest with both the technical and commercial side of offshore projects;
• Comfortable engaging with technical experts and translating complex topics into clear client value.
• Good at understanding perspectives of others (internal / external clients);
• Excellent communication skills in English, written and spoken;
• Ability to discuss with clients in F2F meetings as well as per phone and email;
• Flexibility and willingness to travel;
• Ability to function under pressure.

Is this the job for you?

• A Bachelor and/or Master degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent;
• Proven experience in leading and coaching teams, stakeholder management and budget responsibility.
• Eager to get a detailed understanding of Heerema Engineering Solutions' engineering capabilities in order to win, prepare and execute projects;
• Excellent analytical and practical skills;
• Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written;
• Supervisory and coaching skills to provide guidance to other engineers;
• Ability to discuss with clients in face-to-face meetings as well as per phone and email;
• Flexibility and willingness to travel;
• Ability to function under pressure.
