Are you the engineer who keeps our production environment running - and makes it smarter? Do you have the hands-on mentality to manage industrial systems, solve problems, and build new integrations? At Sif, we build the steel foundations for offshore wind farms across Europe - and we're looking for an OT Engineer who makes our production environment a little better every single day.

What does an OT Engineer do?

As OT Engineer at Sif, you are responsible for the daily management, maintenance, monitoring, and optimisation of our OT environment. You ensure the operational continuity of industrial automation systems and support production processes, Smart Factory solutions, and industrial data platforms. You report to the Manager IT Operations and work closely with production, maintenance, IT infrastructure, suppliers, and the OT Architect.

• Operational management: You manage OT systems on a daily basis, monitor availability, performance, and reliability, resolve disruptions and incidents, and support production teams with OT-related issues.
• OT infrastructure: You manage PLC environments, Kepware, ThingWorx, SCADA systems, industrial servers (Windows, Linux), Historian solutions, OT networks, and OT workstations.
• ThingWorx development: You build dashboards and visualisations, connect sensors and machines, develop API integrations, and maintain existing ThingWorx solutions.
• Integrations: You support connections between OT systems, MES, ERP (D365), Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and data warehouse solutions.
• Security: You implement OT security baselines, support patch management, process vulnerabilities, and manage OT accounts and access rights.

Where will you end up?

You will be based at our Maasvlakte 2 production site in Rotterdam. You report to the Manager IT Operations and work day-to-day alongside colleagues from production, maintenance, IT infrastructure, and the OT Architect.

Who are you?

• You are practically minded and just as comfortable on the shop floor as behind a screen.
• You have strong analytical skills and a genuine hands-on mentality - you solve problems, not just in theory.
• You work independently but are also a true team player.
• You are eager to learn and keep developing yourself in a field that moves fast.

• A Bachelor's degree in ICT, Industrial Automation, or equivalent.
• A broad technical knowlegde and at least 5 years experience
• Technical knowledge such as PLCs, ThingWorx, Kepware, OPC-UA, Profinet, industrial networks, Windows Server, Linux, Azure, SQL, APIs, and Docker.
• Programming skills in ThingWorx scripting, JavaScript, SQL, and (REST) APIs; basic knowledge of Python, Rust, or similar is a plus.

• Salary: Between €4,000 and €5,500 gross (scale 9) per month (based on 40 hours).
• Time off: 25 vacation days + 13 ADV days (based on 40 hours).
• Travel allowance: €0.23 per kilometre.
