Your responsibilities as

As a BI Expert at Van Geloven you are responsible for the entire Business Intelligence chain. You translate information needs from the business into scalable and future‑proof data solutions. In doing so you combine technical expertise with a solid understanding of business processes.

You not only develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, but also work on the underlying data warehouse architecture, ETL processes and various components within the Azure Data Platform. This ensures reliable data, clear reporting and a solid foundation for data‑driven decision‑making.

As part of the BI team you work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Finance and IT. In this role you report to the Manager IT Applications and are based in Tilburg. With your strong analytical skills and proactive attitude you act as the bridge between the business and operations. You translate business needs into valuable insights and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of information provision and data‑driven decision‑making within the organisation.

Your responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining and optimising Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models for various business domains;
• Translating information needs into scalable BI solutions, including complex DAX calculations and KPI structures;
• Designing, building and maintaining data warehouse solutions, including fact and dimensional models;
• Developing and optimising SQL solutions such as views, stored procedures and data models for efficient data processing;
• Developing and managing Azure Synapse pipelines, data ingestion processes and automated data flows within the Azure Data Platform;
• Implementing and maintaining data integrations between systems such as SAP S/4HANA, IBP, SharePoint and other internal and external data sources;
• Monitoring, analysing and resolving incidents within the BI environment, with a focus on performance, data quality and reliability;
• Identifying improvement opportunities, researching new technologies and AI applications, and actively contributing to the further professionalisation of the BI and data landscape.

What you bring to the table

As a BI Expert at Van Geloven you are analytical, proactive and results-oriented, translating business questions into reliable data solutions and insights and actively contributing to the further development of a data-driven organisation.

• HBO- or WO-level education, preferably in a relevant field;
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics and/or Data Engineering;
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and experience developing and optimising data models;
• Proven experience with Power BI, including building reports, dashboards and DAX calculations;
• Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes and dimensional modelling (star schema, fact and dimension models);
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data solutions, including Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure Data Lake Storage;
• Experience developing, managing and optimising data pipelines and data integrations;
• Experience with Python is a strong advantage;
• Fluency in Dutch and English, with strong analytical and communication skills.

• A salary between €5,379 and €6,724 gross per month for a full‑time position, depending on your knowledge and work experience;
• 3% year‑end bonus and 8% holiday allowance;
• A one‑year contract with a view to a permanent position;
• 40 days off per year (25 holiday days + 15 ATV days for full‑time employment);
