What are you going to do?
At Nedap, data plays a critical role in the products used every day by healthcare professionals, dairy farmers, retailers, and security teams worldwide. As Data Platform Engineer you will be responsible for the foundation of our private and public cloud data services, focusing on the operational lifecycle of our data platforms and how they are consumed by application teams.
Together, we build and maintain robust data services to empower our application teams within Nedap to deliver great products. We tackle the unique challenges that come with operating at an enterprise scale, always engineering for the long term.
Your responsibilities
Operate and Maintain
Run, configure, monitor and optimize data services at enterprise scale across both public and private cloud environments.
Automate and Deploy
Build automated pipelines and manage configurations using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) across the entire service lifecycle.
Scale and Resiliency
Design for high availability, manage disaster recovery, and ensure our services scale efficiently as platform demand grows.
Your team
As Data Platform Engineer , You will join the Data Services team of the Nedap Tech Platform. In the Data Services team there is a Product Owner, a Tech Lead and multiple Data Services Specialists.

Because nowadays data is key to success, we play a vital role across the company by providing deep expertise in data operations, usage, and insights. We closely collaborate with specialists both inside and outside our team to share knowledge, challenge each other to continuously improve our platform, and support Nedap's growth. Ultimately, our mission is to maximize the positive impact for the customers who rely on our products across all the markets Nedap operates in.

The salary range for this role is between € 6.000 and € 7.500 gross per month based on full-time employment (38 hours) and depends on relevant knowledge and experience. Required skills
This role as Data Platform Engineer requires a long-term (scaling reliable) mindset. So that means we are looking for people who want a long-term engagement. Comfortable thriving in a diverse environment where a little bit of chaos is part of the fun.
You also recognise yourself in the following:
- Tech Foundations : Solid Linux experience and an Automation/Infrastructure as Code (IaC) mindset.
- Database Experience : Experience with MySQL/MariaDB/PostgreSQL, with deep knowledge in at least one of them.
- Enterprise scale : Proven experience working at an enterprise scale of operations.
- Nice to have : High-level expertise in MySQL / MariaDB.
- Nice to have : Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Redis, or Kafka.
- Language skills : Fluent in English and it would be a nice to have if you also speak Dutch.
