Lead Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails (Remote)

As a Lead Software Engineer at Acture, you combine technical leadership with hands‑on impact. You guide a team of 3-6 Engineers, drive architectural decisions, and help shape our platform end‑to‑end. What you'll do

As a Lead Software Engineer.

As a Lead Software Engineer at Acture, you will be the Team Lead for 36 Software Engineers while continuing to contribute directly to our Acture platform. You will:

• Hold 1on1s and feedback meetings, and push the professional and personal growth of our Software Engineers;
• Conduct technical interviews with job applicants, make hiring decisions and onboard new Engineers to the Acture team;
• Be the technical sparring partner in the Engineering team, review code and do pair programming sessions;
• Participate in making architectural decisions for the Acture platform;
• Develop new features for the Acture platform, both for the back-end and the front-end;
• Work directly with our VP Engineering to discuss new features and actively shape the user experience;
• Test and QA features before deployment;
• Work with our tech stack: Ruby on Rails, RSpec, Capybara, PostgreSQL, JavaScript and Tailwind CSS;
• Fix bugs and maintain an efficient and sustainable codebase

Your experience

In addition to a personal match.

• Youve worked as a software engineer for at least 6 years, ideally with experience on the Staff Engineer level, and have in-depth knowledge of (full-stack) Ruby on Rails.
• You have a Bachelor-level working and thinking ability;
• You have a strong knowledge of relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL, MVC frameworks and TDD.
• You have worked with REST APIs, CSS, HTML and modern JavaScript, as well as experience with Scrum.
• You have some leadership experience, either in a leadership role or as part of your regular responsibilities (e.g., you were a sparring parter for other engineers, involved in onboardings, or similar).
• You strive for clean code and knowledge of how to test thoroughly.
• You have good communication skills and are fluent in English (C1+).
