In brief

• Employment: One-year contract, with the possibility of a permanent contract if both parties are satisfied

About the role

Are you someone who truly understands Finance and uses BI as a steering tool, not as a "reporting factory"? As a BI Finance Consultant at Cadran Analytics, you help organizations take their financial management to the next level. You translate complex questions from CFOs, Finance teams and management teams into clear insights, robust data models and dashboards that are supported by the organization and used on a daily basis.

At Cadran Analytics, we provide reports on a wide range of topics for our clients. For this position, the emphasis is on financial reporting, although for smaller clients you will also create reports in areas such as logistics or production.

You will have the freedom to choose your own approach, provide subject-matter direction and take responsibility for quality. We value experience. We are explicitly looking for someone who looks beyond tooling and has a sharp eye for definitions, governance, data quality and adoption.

You live in the Netherlands and speak Dutch fluently. This is necessary because a large part of client communication and decision-making is in Dutch. At the same time, you will regularly work in an international context.

What you will do

• In this role, you combine advisory work, financial expertise and BI development:
• You act as a sparring partner for controllers, finance managers and CFOs. You ask the right questions, help set priorities and make choices explicit.
• You translate financial management questions into BI solutions, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow, forecasting and working capital.
• You design and build intuitive, validated reports in Power BI and/or Tableau, with attention to storytelling and decision-making.
• You work on SQL data models, from logic and definitions to performance and maintainability.
• You establish governance and adoption that works: data definitions, roles, ownership, process agreements and user training.
• You safeguard quality by bringing structure, standards and best practices, raising the BI maturity level for both the client and the team.
• Depending on your profile, you coach colleagues, act as a subject-matter expert and make a visible contribution to our BI proposition, including templates, approach and accelerators.

Who you are

• You are an experienced consultant who convincingly combines Finance and BI. Do you recognize yourself in a large part of the profile below? Then we would be happy to hear from you.
• You have extensive experience in BI/reporting within a financial context, such as controlling, ERP finance consulting, FP&A or finance BI. Think 3+ years or a demonstrably comparable level.
• You understand financial processes and KPI structures and can translate them into data models and dashboards that are both reliable and usable.
• You are a strong advisor. You make choices transparent, dare to challenge and build trust as a trusted advisor.
• You communicate clearly and professionally in Dutch, required, and English.
• You live in the Netherlands, required.
• You work in a structured way, deliver quality and think in reusable solutions.

Preferred, but not required

• Extensive experience with Power BI or Tableau
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as JD Edwards or NetSuite
