About the venue

You’ll work in a characterful building in the Indische Buurt (Javaplein), with 80 seats inside and a terrace for up to 150 guests.

The venue runs all day: lunch, drinks, dinner, and on weekends evenings with DJs where the pace ramps up even more.

The menu is compact and focused (±15 lunch / ±15 dinner) with dishes like flatbreads, hummus, baba ganoush, chicken dishes, pastrami, and smash burgers.

High volume, constant pressure, and a kitchen that is always “on”.

The role

This is your kitchen within the framework of a larger hospitality group.

The foundation is there: guests, volume, and a team of 5 chefs (a mix of junior and experienced).

You bring structure, consistency, and a higher standard.

You lead the team during service, maintain oversight when the pace peaks, and ensure quality and speed come together on every plate.

You actively work in the kitchen and play a key role in how service runs.

What will you do?

• Lead and develop the kitchen team (5 chefs)

• Maintain pace and overview during busy services (inside + terrace + drinks)

• Improve quality, flavor, and presentation

• Work alongside the team and adjust directly during peak moments

• Develop the menu in collaboration with the executive/creative chef

• Bring structure to processes, planning, and workflows

• Responsible for purchasing and cost control

Who are you?

• Experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef in a high-volume venue

• You stay in control and keep overview under pressure

• You lead sharply and hold people accountable

• You’re used to combining speed with quality

• You work hands-on in the operation and take ownership

What do we offer?

• Salary between €4,000 and €4,250 gross per month

• Tips

• 25 vacation days per year
