About Airborne Aerospace
Airborne Aerospace is manufacturing lightweight structures for aerospace: composite parts for aircraft, satellites, launchers and defence systems, which are produced in our high-tech factory in The Hague in the Netherlands. The Aerospace business unit is growing because of the growing demand from the commercial space market as well as in the defence market. The output of our composite parts production lines is growing rapidly.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Business Developer to accelerate the growth of our Aerospace division , where we design and manufacture high-performance composite components for aerospace and defence systems.
In this strategic role, you will identify and develop new business opportunities with aerospace OEMs, Tier suppliers, and defence organizations. You will lead complex sales processes-from early opportunity identification and technical discussions to proposal development and contract negotiation-working closely with our engineering and production teams.
Your focus will be on building long-term partnerships and expanding our presence in the international aerospace market. By understanding customer challenges and translating our manufacturing expertise and capabilities into reliable supply of high-end components to our customers , you will play a key role in driving sustainable growth for the division."
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic business development plan aligned with company growth objectives
Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities within the aerospace industry
Build and maintain strong relationships with OEMs, Tier 1/2 suppliers, and key industry stakeholders
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through sales proposals to deal closure
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies
Represent the company at international aerospace events and trade shows
Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and executive leadership teams
Lead complex commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
Job requirements
Your Profile
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Business, or related field
8+ years of experience in business development within space, aeronautics, defense, or high-tech manufacturing
Proven track record in securing high-value contracts and strategic partnerships
Strong network within space, aeronautics or defense markets is highly preferred
Good understanding of aerospace supply chains, certification environments (e.g., AS9100), and industry standards
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
Fluent in English (Dutch is a strong advantage)
Willingness to travel internationally
