Hardware/Software engineer (C, C++)

What will you do?

As a hardware/software engineer, you develop embedded electronics and the associated firmware in C and C++. The systems vary, with most projects being maritime applications. You work in various roles during the different phases. You are often involved in multiple projects simultaneously. Together with a team of colleagues, you are responsible for successfully completing the projects.

• You develop PCBs for new and existing products as part of a team.
• You develop test setups and perform tests to support design decisions.
• You assemble your own circuit boards and test them. There is a placement machine for making the board, but soldering is also often done by hand.
• You are responsible for reporting the design work and creating manuals.
• You test the PCBs, possibly in simulation and later aboard a yacht.

What you bring:

You have several years of experience as an engineer.

You have a higher vocational education (HBO) work and thinking level, preferably in electrical engineering.

You have knowledge of protocols such as CAN bus, NMEA 2000, Modbus, RS485 (preference).

You have experience working with a PCB layout package (preference).

You have experience with soldering or are willing to learn it.

You have an affinity for yacht building in the very highest segment.

You are good at maintaining an overview and distinguishing between main issues and side issues.

You are eager to learn and creative in finding solutions.
