Your work ensures that partners can grow their reach, customers discover curated content they trust, and Bol benefits from a strong, data‑driven affiliate ecosystem.

As a team, we're focused on:

Customer Impact: Enabling customers to discover products through authentic recommendations, curated content, and trusted creators.

Business Impact: Increasing traffic, conversions, and GMV by expanding Bol's presence across the creator and affiliate landscape.

What you do as full-stack engineer

  1. Develop clean, efficient, and scalable code using React, Next.js, Angular, Kotlin, Java, and Spring.
  2. Balance expertise: Combined development using both your front-end experience and back-end experience.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  4. Think of ways to make team solutions scalable and future-proof;
  5. Own team solutions end-to-end: you build it, you run it, you love it.
  6. Drive innovation by experimenting, iterating, and refining your work based on feedback and data.

You are a (very!)) welcome member of the team. Technical challenges aside, perks include end-to-end (team) ownership, lots of autonomy and an inspiring culture. You build it - you run it - you love it is our mantra, and we live it every day.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

Switch to find out

  • - Soloist You let colleagues find their own solutions
  • - You're only into the 'how' and 'what' You never ask 'why?'' Why would you?
  • - Freedom averse Because you want to be taken by the hand; autonomy & ownership are not your thing
  • + You know and want to learn your stuff You have - at least - 5 years of hands-on experience as Full-stack engineer, with strong front-end expertise. Next to this, you like to do and/or learn more about backend engineering. Experience with React, Next.js and Java (experience with Angular, Kotlin, and Spring is a plus). Knowledge of cloud platforms (Kubernetes and GCP experience is a bonus).
  • Those need to be some of your main qualities because you combine a genuine passion for coding with a proactive collaborative attitude. You are not afraid to quickly implement solutions and iterate on the learnings gained from both usage data and user feedback.
  • Because you rise to the (technical) challenges - and solve these - with and within this team through collaboration, honest and direct discussions. We love somebody who brings their own ideas to spark conversations - and help the team understand the thinking process behind these ideas. Next to this it would be a plus if you have experience in a Product-led company.

This is where you'll work

At the premier online retail tech platform in the Netherlands and Belgium. A platform where 13 million customers can choose from over 38 million articles. A platform that helps roughly 49,000 commercial partners run their businesses. And a platform that will never be 'finished', because bol has been reinventing retail since 1999 and we always will be. If there's a better way to do something, we're working on it! Together with our customers, partners, and over 2,900 colleagues. Bol, de winkel van ons allemaal (the store of us all). This is the story we work on every day. It is our belief, that this will grow even stronger when many different people add their uniqueness to our story. We invite you to share your story with us. Because when you bring different people together, the most beautiful things will arise.

We take pride in our B Corp certification and strive for continuous improvement every day. Our annual bonus is tied to sustainability goals, and we are committed to equality and equal opportunities for all.

The bonus is calculated at the end of the year and we always end the year with a fun party!

We bring the best of both worlds together by working 50% at the office and 50% at home. This way, we find a balance between organisational and individual needs.
