What you'll do
You will play a crucial role in administering and optimizing Snowflake environments to ensure performance, cost efficiency, security, and scalability. You will build self-service capabilities, creating data mesh setups where each team has its own environment for seamless data management. You'll also focus on monitoring system performance and cost, as well as improving data governance with Collibra.
Is this about you?
You are an experienced platform engineer with a passion for data infrastructure and automation. You thrive in a collaborative environment, solving complex problems while mentoring teams on modern data practices.
Hands-on Snowflake experience (e.g., account setup, administration and configuration).
5+ years in SRE, infrastructure management or data engineering.
Skilled in CI/CD automation with Azure DevOps or GitHub.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills are important.
Proficient Terraform infrastructure management.
Proficient with at least one programming language (e.g., Python).
Familiarity with Collibra, Airflow, DBT.
You'll be responsible for
Snowflake administration: Administer, configure, and optimize Snowflake environments, ensuring performance and security while managing user roles, permissions, and warehouse optimization.
Best practices guidance: Guide product teams on Snowflake best practices for data ingestion and data transformation.
Automation and integration: Automate data mesh environments, integrating tools like DBT and Airflow.
Performance monitoring: Monitor and improve Snowflake performance, scalability, and security.
Collaboration with teams: Work with product teams to deliver tailored data solutions.
Data governance: Maintain Collibra for data governance and cataloging.
Pipeline orchestration: Maintain Airflow to orchestrate data pipelines.
