ASML is een Nederlands hightechbedrijf en een van de belangrijkste leveranciers van machines voor de halfgeleiderindustrie, in het bijzonder steppers en scanners, die worden gebruikt bij het maken van chips. Klanten zijn veelal chipproducenten. Het hoofdkantoor en bedrijvencomplex van ASML staat in Veldhoven, waar zowel research and development en assemblage in cleanrooms plaatsvindt. Het bedrijf heeft tevens zestig servicepunten in veertien landen ter ondersteuning van de plaatsing en levering van machines en reserve-onderdelen.

ASML is ontstaan uit een joint venture van ASM International en Koninklijke Philips. ASML levert wereldwijd, maar de meeste van haar klanten zijn gevestigd in Azië. In 2011 werd 66% van de omzet in die regio behaald, 25% in de Verenigde Staten en iets minder dan 9% in Europa. De grootste klant was verantwoordelijk voor een kwart van de totale omzet. De belangrijkste leverancier van ASML is Zeiss, een fabrikant van lenzen en optische componenten. Het aandeel van Zeiss in de totale inkoopkosten van ASML is iets minder dan 30%. Vanwege de grote wederzijdse belangen zijn beide bedrijven een strategisch alliantie aangegaan; deze kan alleen verbroken worden als een van de partijen drie jaar te voren opzegt. This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Job mission

The AI Solutions Developer in the ASML Data Analytics team is responsible for designing, building, and integrating AI-driven capabilities into scalable, enterprise-grade applications. Rather than focusing solely on model development, you will work on industrializing AI solutions, ensuring they are robust, maintainable, and deliver real business value. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to transform AI concepts into production-ready products and services. In this role, you will contribute to the evolution and management of AI services within the Data Analytics Platform in the IT Chief Data Office, enabling the organization to leverage AI at scale.

The position is based in the CDO Data Analytics. The AI Engineer works in close cooperation with the data scientists, data engineers, and software developers in the team and with the domain architect.

Roles and responsibilities

• Design and build AI-driven solutions that address complex business challenges and deliver measurable value.
• Deploy AI-enabled applications into production environments, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into robust AI-powered solutions.
• Stay current with emerging AI and software development technologies and apply them where relevant.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality standards.
• Monitor and improve deployed AI components to ensure performance, accuracy, and compliance over time.
• Develop automated deployment strategies, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), to streamline delivery of AI-enabled applications.

Education and experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and developing software solutions that integrate AI capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI technologies such as RAG, MCP, or similar.
• Proficiency in Python and strong knowledge of modern software engineering practices (testing, CI/CD, code quality).
• Experience with Azure cloud platform (knowledge of GCP is a plus).
• Familiarity with integrating AI services (e.g., Azure AI, OpenAI, custom ML APIs) into enterprise applications.
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for deploying AI-enabled applications.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep) is a plus.
• Awareness of security, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27000).
