Data Office

The COO Data Office strives for a competitive edge in data delivery to have data at APG AM's fingertips. The

objective of the Data Office is to enhance APG data operating model, simplify the data architecture and

leverage best practices. This does not solely aim to bring data under governance but also aims to optimize

data delivery and distribution through building a shared Data Platform where both CIO-CMI, CIO-PMI and

COO can compute, transform and obtain data faster and simpler. In addition, the Data Office has an

overarching responsibility including data policies and architecture, the enterprise data model, establishing a

data management operating model and data frameworks.

More specifically, the Data Office, is responsible for all data-related activities at APG-AM ranging from the

ingestion, transformation, storing, processing, to the implementation in order to provide data readily

available for consumption (consume layer). Technically, this is done by realizing 'data pipelines' on the data

platform that adhere to architecture standards and principles. The high standards and robust implementation

make the Data Office the best provider for information products that have to comply with high quality

standards for e.g. client reporting or formal performance reporting.

The Data Sourcing & Distribution (DSD) team is responsible for onboarding key data domains on the data

platform, distributing data, and capturing information about the available data in the Data Shop.

We are looking for a dynamic, data-driven and proactive Business Data Analyst to join our team. In this role,

you will be at the heart of driving digitalization and delivering impactful reporting and analytical products

for various clients. You will take ownership of strategic initiatives, proactively ensure the alignment of key

projects with organizational goals, and lead complex, cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate is

someone with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a

fast-paced and challenging environment.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to support performance attribution, risk analysis,

and exposure reporting. This role involves leveraging analytical tools and solutions to provide insights that

aid portfolio management, client reporting, and investment decision-making.

What you would do

You'll work closely with stakeholders across departments with APG to understand and address their

informational needs, translating these into functional and technical requirements. Develop understanding of

ingested data, metrics, choose appropriate data models and design robust ETL/ELT pipelines together with

our data engineers and developers.

As part of the cross functional way of working and driving the digitalization agenda forward, you'll act as a

subject matter expert in the DSD value stream cross-departmentally in MDTs and Digipods, for the DSD value

stream.

  topics on strategic architecture and design.

• Be able to understand complex requirements, come up with high quality solutions to address the

  demand within APG AM and fully explore dependencies and implications.

• Responsible to define your book of work and execute against product vision and commitments in an

• Manage and own significant pieces of project deliverables end-to-end from the initial demand, all

  the way to testing and securing sign-off on the agreed solution and delivering to production.

• Draft functional and technical requirements for information products, utilizing iterative prototyping

  for business analysis.

• Provide periodical reports and custom information products to stakeholders.
• Support the teams within Data Sourcing & Distribution Value Stream by describing the business processes, including the organizational structures involved.
• Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis
• Completes the gathering and cleaning processes for data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and quality
• Uses statistical methods and techniques to identify patterns, trends, correlations, and anomalies, and extract meaningful insights
• Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate data findings effectively

What you bring

The ideal candidate will have experience in Performance Attribution & Reporting , Portfolio Steering & Performance Monitoring, Regulatory & ALM Reporting, Client & Quantitative Reporting, building data

pipelines, dashboards and code automation.

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science, or a related field (advanced degrees or certifications such as CFA, FRM are a plus).
• Strong background in data analytics and digital transformation with at least 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst within Fixed Income domain.
• Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies with enterprise-level application development projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills.
• Actively contributes to the formulation and realization on team goals and working methods and coordinates the consequences of actions and decisions with those involved.
• The ability to interpret a set of technical requirements and develop robust solutions.
• Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with business and IT stakeholders.
• Flexible and resilient team player with strong interpersonal skills taking initiative to drive things forward.
• Adaptable, able to work across teams and functions in multinational environment.
• SQL and Python skills; Azure and/or Databricks experience desired.
• Experience with financial data management tools and portfolio management systems.
• Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and staying ahead of emerging trends.
• Results-driven, with a strong focus on delivering impactful outcomes for the investment team.
• Cross-disciplinary thinking, integrating business knowledge with technical expertise to solve complex challenges.
• Proficiency in data modeling, analysis tools, and SQL or similar query languages.
• A thorough understanding of portfolio restructuring, ESG requirements, and end-to-end data flow management.
• Proficiency in performance and portfolio management tools.
• A solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to handle complex problems involving both business and technical dependencies.
• Understanding of financial instruments and market data.
• Highly developed communication skills in English.
