What you'll do

At Backbase, we build future-proof banking products to create seamless, user-centric banking journeys. Join our R&D department to develop, scale, and deploy our software to financial institutions worldwide. You'll be a key part of our dynamic team, focusing on building our digital banking applications for Retail and Business Banking.

Your typical day will include:

• Building, improving, and growing our Accounts and Transactions journey to revolutionize digital banking.
• Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code to create scalable features that other developers can use seamlessly.
• Developing features with Native Android frameworks and cutting-edge technologies like Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and Jetpack Compose.
• Achieving a high level of code quality, including unit and automated tests, and take ownership of testing functionalities developed.
• Working within Agile ways of working in a cross-functional mobile squad and acting as a mentor to other developers.
• Joining daily stand-ups, team events, and workshops, and being a part of our mobile guild consisting of 70+ mobile engineers to continuously grow your knowledge.

We are looking for someone with:

• A passion for developing Android apps using Kotlin or Java, and a strong belief that writing clean, maintainable code is the only way to go.
• Hands-on experience with clean architecture patterns, such as MVVM and MVI.
• A desire to mentor other developers and share your best practices.
• An understanding of proper code documentation, automation, and knowledge of the modern software development lifecycle.
• Experience building customizable, resilient and modular applications and an understanding of best practices in this domain.
• Knowledge of CI/CD with Bitrise or Jenkins, automation, and scripting is a plus.
