Toeval of niet: in het jaar dat de Call of Duty-franchise een echte uitdager heeft in de vorm van Medal of Honor, bereikt de franchise in kwalitatief opzicht een piek. Modern Warfare 2 was goed, Black Ops is nog beter.

Begin deze maand onthulde Treyarch de multiplayer-modus van Call of Duty: Black Ops in Los Angeles. Tweakers.net was er bij en stortte zich op de multiplayer-modus waar gamers massaal op wachten.

Pluspunten

  • Het is weer CoD!
  • Game speelt weer heerlijk vertrouwd
  • Wapens en models zien er prima uit
  • Geluid is prima
  • Nieuwe spelopties
  • Theatre mode
  • Zombie mode!
  • Sfeer is goed qua omgeving (sp)

Minpunten

  • (Deels opgeloste) microstutter fixed (grafisch dan, geluid nog niet)
  • Random freezes/vastlopers
  • Cpu overload bug Fixed!
  • AI is ontiegelijk dom
  • Scripting loopt soms niet al te lekker
  • Maps vallen soms wat tegen
  • Snipers hebben een stuk minder mogelijkheden
  • Sommige wapens en killstreaks zijn te overpowered
  • random vastlopers, geluidstutter en texturefouten nog steeds niet verholpen

Pluspunten

  • Een waardige opvolger van MW2. Voegt erg veel toe en je zit er weer heerlijk in. En extreem fijn dat de serverbrowser terug is!

Minpunten

  • Jammer dat hij nog wat getempert wordt door traagheid, lag en dat soort zaken. Over het algemeen wordt dit wel snel en goed opgelost overigens.

Pluspunten

  • Loopt soepel, vlot, zonder haperingen, fouten in het level.
  • AI is zeer goed, op elk nieveau.
  • grafisch uitmuntend
  • Geluiden bij goede audioset verbluffend realistisch
  • Veel harde actie, nooit saai, valt op geen enkel moment tegen.

Minpunten

  • Soms wat weinig basgeluiden (explosies wil je ook voelen)
  • veel filmmomenten waarbij je niks kan doen (is persoonlijk, pas namelijk wel in de sfeer en het verhaal)
  • soms iets te veel gore waardoor het spel niet geschikt is voor jongere mensen die het spel tóch spelen.
