Alive! heeft een artikeltje in elkaar gedraaid met speculaties over de Soundblaster Live! Platinum (opvolger van de SBLive!):
What is possible though is a small revision of the EMU10K1 to improve certain characteristics of the DSP, for example, better DAC conversion for higher sound quality, and other enhancements which doesn't radically change the architecture of the chip (and require a re-write of the drivers).Personally, I don't see that happening because there is plenty of untapped power in the EMU10K1 and product life cycles for sound cards are typically much longer than 3D graphic cards, which now are moving at a crazy pace of 6 months! Think about how long Creative milked the SB16 and EMU8000! (Sound Blaster AWE32, Sound Blaster 32, Sound Blaster AWE64 Gold, and all the Value editions of each product line.) 3 or so years for the EMU8000 products if I remember correctly!
