(Associate) Developer - Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) for SAP HANA Cloud Infrastructure

THE ROLE
As a(n) (Associate) Developer and Cloud Engineer (f/m/d) in one of our SAP HANA Cloud Infrastructure service teams, you take over responsibility for one or more microservices together with your teammates. Your responsibility includes architecture, implementation, deployment and operations of the microservice, as well as the continuous improvements that are derived from operating the service in production. By applying DevOps principles and in close collaboration with our operations and support teams, you ensure automation of routine tasks and optimal operation of your services. Measuring and monitoring of e.g. availability, latency and overall system state are vital parts of this approach. Also, reacting on incidents and the associated root cause analysis as well as conducting post-mortem investigations are typical tasks.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• Very good degree in computer science, informatics, business informatics or related areas
• Initial experience with Kubernetes (especially patterns, custom resources, networking), Prometheus, Docker, Git, Jenkins
• Initial experience with the cloud offerings of the major hyperscalers and their cloud infrastructure
• Initial experience with cloud-native software development
• Initial experience in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Groovy, Python, Golang, Perl, Ruby, C, C++
• Very good team player with extraordinary soft skills
• Very good language skills in German and English

The SAP HANA Cloud Infrastructure Team in Walldorf is responsible for developing and running the Kubernetes-based infrastructure for SAP HANA Cloud. Besides Kubernetes, we are using further state-of -the-art technologies like Prometheus and Grafana in order to ensure high availability of our services.
SAP HANA Cloud is the in-memory database platform SAP HANA, offered as a managed cloud service operated by SAP and planned to be available on the major cloud providers. SAP HANA Cloud enables customers to run analytic queries on huge data sets in real time. Various virtualization and replication capabilities allow for seamless integration with the existing IT landscapes of our customers. At the same time, SAP HANA Cloud is highly scalable and offers flexible billing models.
