In this role, you have the opportunity to participate in innovative Research projects where you will boost our innovations by enabling the creation of AI-driven consumer and professional propositions. You will be asked to bring in your expertise in the field of healthcare informatics, architecture, mobile & web development, and big data technologies.

You are responsible for:

  • Defining architecture strategy, balancing long- and short-term views, and balancing conflicting requirements (e.g. security vs. performance) in alignment with software leaders.
  • Working with partners to develop the architectural runway and spikes in support of the new business proposition, features, and capabilities.
  • Partnering with teams, customers, suppliers, software leaders, and product and solution management to define and craft at high-level a solution/ platform(incl. solution/platform intent, information models, and documentation requirements) and ensures fitness of purpose by strongly focusing on end-user needs and technological innovation
  • Delivering an efficient and consolidated architecture/design, using technology and evaluating design alternatives including cost-benefit analysis
  • Defines system/items/units (for example microservices) and their interfaces, crafting well-defined building blocks, system options, and scenarios and ensure tight alignment with the Philips software reference architecture.
  • Allocates responsibilities to system/items/units, understands and supports solution deployment
  • Support iterative AI projects through an accurate choice of tools, frameworks, and platforms to ensure a good transition from research to production.
  • Supporting research teams to develop high-quality software, using methods like Test Driven Development, Static Code Analysis, and Continuous Integration.

Your team

The mission of the Digital Platform Solutions team is to accelerate the creation of new digital propositions by providing deep knowledge and expertise on architecture, digital platforms, big data lifecycle management, software development, and cloud and high-performance computing (HPC).

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience :

  • An MSc in computer science, mathematics, physics or another relevant area in an advanced IT technology setting and minimal 3 years working experience in the area of big data analytics;
  • Strong architectural knowledge and proven experience on digital platforms, cloud solutions, big data platforms (e.g. Spark, Kafka) and complex IT Infrastructures;
  • Excellent software development skills (Java, JavaScript and Python);
  • Basic understanding of machine and deep learning methodologies and technologies (Sklearn, PyTorch, Tensorflow)
  • Experience with cloud solutions such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google cloud is considered a pre;
  • Experience developing web-based (Vue, React) and mobile (Android, IOS, ReactNative) user interfaces is a plus.
  • Medical standards such as FHIR, HL7, Snomed and related are an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong personal relationships at all levels, both internal and external to Philips Research; with customers, obtain their user needs and be able to transform those into practical solutions;
  • Team worker in multidisciplinary and international settings, able to adapt quickly;
  • Fast learners able to quickly pick up new areas.
