Senior UX Researcher

  • Listen. Use existing platforms and proven methods, and develop new ways, to collect and process user insights in a qualitative and quantitative way.
  • Understand. Derive insights from user feedback and measured data and validate assumptions by identifying key questions and proposing success metrics.
  • Share. Dive deeper into the insights and help your agile team make informed decisions daily when working on new features and product improvements.
  • Innovate. Take charge of the UX Research department and increase its capabilities by improving research processes, finding new resources and introducing new tools.

Your challenge

As a Senior UX Researcher at Quby, you will play a very important part in closing the gap between our product and our users. The app currently allows more than 350.000 households to remotely control their home, giving each of them insights into their energy usage thanks to advanced tech and data science. Quby aims to be the best data-driven smart home service provider, making all homes a little greener and more comfortable to live in. Your work here will make sure that we make the right features and present them in the right way.

You will be:

  • Conducting user research in qualitative and quantitative ways.
  • Maximizing UX research capabilities by expanding research tools and methods.
  • Validating assumptions by identifying key questions and success metrics.
  • Using measured data as well as your own research to compliment your insights.
  • Keeping your eyes on the prize (current development) and the bigger picture (future development).
  • Presenting your findings to stakeholders and the rest of your team.

Your team

You will become a member of Quby’s UX Guild and join a great mix of designers, copywriters and researchers that all share your passion for creating a logically sound, detailed and enjoyable user experience. The UX Guild has weekly meetings in which you can brainstorm, validate ideas, showcase your work and improve together as a team.

Additionally, you will join one Quby’s two value stream teams. These multi-disciplined teams contain Frontend Developers, Backend Developers, Design and UI. Here, you will assist your team in making well-informed decisions, based on the assumptions you have validated and the insights that you have gathered. With the help of your input, everything that we build we be made with the user’s needs in mind.

Who you are

  • You are both a pragmatic and analytic person who finds as much enjoyment and excitement in guerilla testing on the street, as you do in setting up new and more systematic ways to find out the things you want to learn from our users.
  • You are confident and assertive when sharing your findings with your team, making sure that they will be able to turn your actionable insights and recommendations into brand new features and services.
  • You understand and work to uphold the importance of UX research, making sure that it plays a big part in the day-to-day decisions of your team. Your strong communication skills will drive innovation and improvements in the product as well as in the way your team thinks.

You can

  • Work closely with, and present your insights to, key stakeholders.
  • Educate team members on the importance and value of user research.
  • Propose suitable research initiatives for each stage of product development.
  • Collaborate with your team, from Data Scientists to Marketeers.
  • Derive deeper learnings from user data and other metrics.
  • Fluently speak and write in Dutch and English.
