Job descriptionAs an (Online) Learning Support Specialist, you will be offering extra support new students enrolled in programmes in the Department of Computer Sciences. Given that students are starting their programmes fully online this academic year, they are likely to face certain challenges unique to the current situation, and you will be there to offer them more support during the coming time. You will work closely with the Study Advisors and refer students to the VU counsellors, when necessary.
RequirementsWe are urgently looking for candidates available to start immediately, and in any case not later than October 15, 2020.
What are we offering?A temporary position for 6 months (0,2 FTE), with no possibility of extension. Notice that the latest possible start date is 1 October 2020. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,790 (scale 10) and a maximum €4,402 (scale 10), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.2 FTE.

The VU Department of Computer Science has approximately 170 staff members, including 35 tenured staff and 40-50 PhD students. Lecturers form a critical and essential basis for the functioning of the department, providing foundational education that helps determine the future of our students.
Our research and our students are diverse, covering disciplines such as Social sciences, Humanities, Economics, and Bioinformatics. Currently, we offer programs in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Information Sciences (BSc and MSc), and Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (MSc), with a total of around 1000 new students each year..
