Quant Developer | Research & Analytics | Infrastructure EU Team

The role

APG Asset Management Amsterdam is looking to hire a Quant Developer to join the growing Infrastructure team of private markets. Reporting to Research & Analytics Infrastructure Lead, the role is a pivotal element both in the development of a global Infrastructure analytics platform and the investment process for the Infrastructure portfolio. Combining an interdisciplinary array of private data points ranging from climate risk data, reputational risk datasets, GRESB and core financial datasets, this analytics platform enables efficient bottom-up research on private infrastructure investments, combined with top-down oversight. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing platform that is instrumental in the investment decision process and management of a EUR 32bn worldwide infrastructure portfolio.

This is an ideal role for candidates with a quantitative background, experience in data engineering and cloud solutions, with a strong focus on code scalability and robustness, who want to learn more about the private infrastructure market.

Why join our team?

  • Be part of a tightknit, forward-thinking team spread across EU, US and Asia shaping the future of infrastructure investing.
  • Get your hands on alternative datasets inaccessible for the capital markets audience.
  • Be exposed to a vast range of asset types, from EV charging companies, rail/road/sea transport companies to renewable energy companies.
  • Take full ownership of the development of information products end-to-end.
  • Thrive in a culture based on meritocracy that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

What you would do

  • Perform thematic research with a quantitative angle on relevant topics to assess the impact on underwriting of the investment portfolio.
  • Develop and enhance our data driven analytics and LLM platform used in investment decisions.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers, researchers, and fellow engineers within the global team to understand the Infrastructure investment processes and turn relevant ideas into high performance tooling.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines and cloud native applications that effectively leverage Azure solutions.
  • Translate research into scalable, low maintenance information products.
  • Maintain and further develop our data platform by on-boarding new data sources with key focus on automation.
  • Ensure system stability, data accuracy, and model transparency.

What you bring

This role requires not only strong technical capabilities but also the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across regions. Success in this position depends as much on collaboration and communication as it does on coding and analytics.

Soft Skills

  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong analytical and statistical reasoning.
  • Effective communicator and team collaborator.
  • Detail-oriented with a growth mindset and interest in infrastructure investing.

Technical Skills

  • Master's degree (or higher) in quantitative disciplines (Math, Stats, CS).
  • At least 1 year of relevant working experience in data engineering and analytics.
  • At least 1 year of working experience with Python, SQL, Git, with strong emphasis on clean coding practices.
  • Experience with Power BI, LLMs, CI/CD pipelines, and microservices.

What we offer you

We will offer you, depending on relevant knowledge and experience, a gross salary in scale 8 or 9 and great employment conditions aimed at flexibility, such as:

  • A guaranteed end of year bonus of 8.33%
  • Attention to your vitality and personal development
  • Possibility to work from home 2-3 days per week
  • And obviously a well-managed pension

Where you will work
