Internship description

Nixxes Software is part of PlayStation Studios and is located in Utrecht's city center. As an intern at our studio, you will have an opportunity to work on projects in collaboration with other renowned PlayStation Studios around the world. We have opportunities that involve many aspects of the full game development process required to ship AAA titles.

Essential Duties

• Design and improve basic layouts for game areas.
• Set up simple scripted events, like combat scenes and interactive objects.
• Use feedback to adjust pacing, difficulty, and player experience.
• Work with other teams to make sure gameplay and visuals work well together.
• Help plan and organize tasks by learning to use tracking tools.
• Work with senior designers to develop and polish specific level design elements.

• Has sufficient technical knowledge of 3D level editors like Unreal Engine 5 or other major game engines.
• Has experience with the full game development process.

Essential Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a relevant study program.
• Have a permit to study and do an internship in the Netherlands.
• In your 3rd or 4th year of study.
• Available for at least 20 consecutive weeks.

Portfolio submission is required for this position. Please focus this portfolio on personal contributions to your projects. Please include a breakdown specifying what you were directly responsible for creating. Considered portfolios should show the following:

• Experience in game development, ideally with third-person action games.
• Good understanding of cinematography and pacing.
• Demonstrated interest in the technical side of AAA game development.
• Submit only your most impressive work.
