Vacancy - Python Developer

The DetACT 'No more Fraud' business unit is based at our location in Rijswijk. The team there consists of about 40 (technical) professionals with a passion for technology and anti-fraud. Our services include fraud investigation and 24/7 cyber threat detection. We detect threats in real time and escalate to the client if necessary, so they are immediately aware of impending danger and have access to the necessary data to take action. DetACT is used by multiple customers in the financial industry and can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud.

What will you be doing as a Python Developer

We are looking for a software engineer who can contribute to the continued development of the DetACT platform. Our software is moving to the cloud, and we are constantly adding new features at the request of our customers. We make sure that our platform is in the best technical condition, bugs are fixed, and incidents are handled.

Improving software quality makes you happy and you enjoy writing high-quality, future-proof software. Fraud happens in real-time and 24/7, so our customers expect our software to be fast, highly available and reliable.

Because you are also the technical point of contact for our client, you must be able to speak and write English fluently. You will be working in an international team of (mostly) Python developers.

Who are you:

• Strong analytical skills
• You are a team player and can teach others professional skills
• Strong knowledge of the Python programming language
• Understanding of TCP/IP networks and HTTP traffic, and able to understand sessions, headers and cookies
• Experience with databases (preferably MySQL)
• Good knowledge of (automated) testing techniques and considers them a normal part of the development process
• Familiar with the Linux command line
• Experience with git Experience with code review
• Experience with Scrum/Kanban/Lean and an agile mindset

Nice to have:

• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with C++
• Experience with other types of datastores such as Redis, etc.
• Experience with front-end development (JavaScript, Angular 2+)
• Experience with Python frameworks such as Django and Flask
• Experience with financial transactions and/or fraud detection
