Met versienummer 7.25 is er een nieuwe stabiele release van de irc-client mIRC verschenen. Met dit programma is het mogelijk om via verschillende kanalen en servers met elkaar te chatten, maar ook om via 'direct client-to-client' bestanden naar elkaar te sturen. Verder kunnen scripts worden gedraaid om bijvoorbeeld het beheren van kanalen eenvoudiger te maken. De irc-server van Tweakers.net draait op irc.tweakers.net, met #tweakers.net als het officiële kanaal en een groot aantal andere kanalen die dienstdoen als thuishaven voor de hardware- en softwarefanaat. Een overzicht van alle beschikbare kanalen kan via het commando /list worden opgevraagd. Via die lijst kan snel het gewenste kanaal worden gevonden. Sinds 7.23 bèta zijn de volgende veranderingen en verbeteringen aangebracht:

Changes in mIRC version 7.25:

• Fixed /dline bug when deleting lines from windows containing a large number of lines.
• Fixed switchbar/treebar blink icons bug that caused some window icons not to blink when they were set to /flash.

Changes in mIRC version 7.24 bèta:

• Fixed Control+Break key combination issue that caused it to stick if Control key was released first.
• Fixed halt/haltdef in on RAWMODE and CTCP not working as in previous versions.
• Fixed Tools/Received Files menu item not working under Wine.
• Fixed hotlink feature not handling certain characters for addresses and channels.
• Fixed /drawsave -bN switch not working with .bmp files.
• Changed list channels "Hide non-text channels" feature to handle multiple channel prefixes.
• Fixed CTCP script event being triggered in a different way to previous versions.
• Fixed right-click on nick in channel window not selecting the nick in the channel nicklist.
• Fixed /fwrite bug that caused a gpf when used with a failed /fopen handle.
• Fixed 10053 connection issue that occurred on initially connecting to a server that closed the connection immediately.
• Fixed DCC window bug that resulted in text not being displayed correctly when toggling MDI/desktop mode.
• Updated to OpenSSL 1.0.1c library.
• Fixed /flash bug so that flashing an MDI window will display the text message in the mIRC titlebar and flash the window's switchbar icon.
• Fixed /filter -fs bug that prevented matchtext from being applied correctly when outputting to the status window.
• Changed editbox so that it beeps at most ten times when the maximum message length is reached. The beep now also respects the "enable sounds" option in the sounds dialog.
• Changed log view window to not open ontop by default, however you can now set the default ontop state through the system menu as well as save the window position.
• Fixed on SENDFAIL/GETFAIL events not triggering if a send/get window is closed manually.
• Fixed track urls bug that prevented it from working if the URL catcher feature was turned off.
• Fixed away message not being displayed in the correct window during a /whois in some situations.
• Fixed custom window not remembering font setting when MDI/desktop state of the window is changed.
