Job description
The Project Manager (PM) is authorized and responsible for the management of (internal) software development within the Optiver organization. The PM applies the PRINCE 2 project management methodology while retaining the flexibility required in the Optiver organization. The PM is responsible to set up project(s) in time, money, and resources to reach project results (as intended and agreed). These projects are focused mainly on software development but can also concern other business areas within Optiver. In addition, the PM plays an important role in the improvement of the project management approach within the Optiver. The project management team is a relative new department, a proactive attitude is important to further develop this department within Optiver.

• Definition and agreement of the project, project contours and project goals.
• Definition and writing of the project plan of approach
• Definition of the project planning (and keeping it up-to-date)
• Reporting on a (regular) basis on the progress of the projects
• Communication with the internal customers of the projects
• Steering and the daily monitoring of the project members
• Initiates and guides process improvement activities for maturing the Optiver project management process.

• Masters or Bachelor degree in a technical field (computer science, ... )
• Solid experience in project management in a professional software development department, and/or infrastructure department
• PRINCE 2 project management (preferably certified)
• Experience with Microsoft development environment is preferred
• Knowledge and experience of (generic) software product life cycle
• Network knowledge is a pre.
• Knowledge and experience of CMM is preferred
• Knowledge of a real-time environment and/or financial world is preferred
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Pro-active and flexible attitude in order to succeed in a highly changing and dynamic environment.
