Amefa (Apeldoornse messenfabriek Amefa BV), established in 1931, has grown into one of Europe's main table cutlery and kitchen knife suppliers. With own brands like Amefa, Couzon and Richardson but also by private label, Amefa holds a market leader position in the European market. Design and functionality for the most divergent of users has brought the company world fame.

Product development, an extensive product range, excellent price/quality performance and an efficient supply chain are important elements in the success of the company.

Amefa employs over 300 members of staff in Europe and Asia. The network of subsidiaries, agents and distributors enables Amefa to successfully distribute its products in more than 50 countries worldwide. Local knowledge and experience bring a "local touch" to the company, which is vital for conducting successful international business.

Amefa's head office and European distribution centre is located in Apeldoorn. From here the various foreign subsidiaries (England, Germany, Poland, Italy, France, Spain, Hong Kong, China and Japan) are managed and coordinated.

MANAGER ICT

The position

In this challenging position you are responsible for the design, planning and delivery of information technology, projects and services. You guide and monitor initiatives in such a way that they will be completed on time, on budget and to the satisfaction of all appropriate clients and management.

You represent the Amefa organization on all IT matters and will be responsible for ensuring that the IT related services provided are effective, seamless, and reliable.

In this position you will report directly to the Chief Finance Officer and will work closely with all members of the Amefa IT community and functional managers.

You manage the IT department in Apeldoorn (two persons) and work closely with the dedicated network managers in the subsidiaries. For the other foreign subsidiaries you manage the local suppliers on all ICT matters.

Main areas of responsibility:

• Develop and budget IT to enable and support business strategy;
• Approve IT investments, projects and costs within budget;
• Develop cost effective up to date IT platform to support business requirements;
• Define IT architecture and standards for the group;
• Manage all aspects of technology planning and deployment;
• Assure that IT products (hardware & software) and services (user support, maintenance & contingency) are available to meet business requirements;
• Define and implement service level agreements with IT services providers;
• Select and manage third party vendors for projects and ongoing service delivery;
• Project Manage infrastructure projects;

Candidate profile

• Minimum HBO degree required;
• Eight years experience in IT with outstanding track record;
• Demonstrated experience in infrastructure projects;
• Strong skills in: Technologies and Architectures (with knowledge of MPLS networks, Windows 2003, Exchange 2007, SQL, preferable IFS & Cognos);
• Conceptual thinker with the ability to implement;
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English;
• International experience;
• Willing to travel frequently to support business needs in the foreign subsidiaries;
• Personal characteristics: frontiersman, resourceful, creative, figure things out and getting things done, hands-on;
• You are an excellent listener and a proven collaborator with superiors, peers and staff;
• You have a strong desire to win and can work comfortable in stressful situations.
